Thank you for your interest in organizing a Centered Riding® Clinic, Lecture, or Lessons.

As a Level IV Apprentice Clinician, Elaine is qualified to teach Centered Riding® Clinics and she also gives Centered Riding® related lectures. Should you decide to be an organizer of such an event you will be the main contact with Elaine. There are definite service and price advantages for running a clinic versus lessons.

Both Phil and Elaine teach private lessons using Centered Riding® Techniques. Elaine also teaches group lessons. Lessons are a direct service between instructor and student. Payment is expected at the time of the lesson. Be sure to have permission to have an instructor come to your riding location.

Here are suggested steps for setting up a Centered Riding® event with Elaine:

  1. Inquire into arena/facility availability and costs
  2. Schedule the dates and confirm the rates with Elaine
  3. Confirm the dates with the arena/facility
  4. Give facility's physical address and fax number to Elaine if they require an insurance certificate
  5. Confirm if Phil will be bringing our sound system
  6. Plan transportation, room and board expenses
  7. Determine the fees you will charge to cover your costs
  8. Advertise the clinic and/or lecture locally, statewide and/or nationally
  9. Ask Elaine to post the event on Centered Riding®, Inc.'s website
  10. Send or funds transfer Elaine your deposit to cover transportation expense
  11. Schedule the riding participants and collect fees/deposits
  12. Confirm room, transportation plans and directions
  13. Onsite considerations: road signs, parking, warm up area, horse water, un-mounted ground work area, seating, people water and beverages, snacks, meals, electrical connection, sound system, optional video taping, weather related preparation
  14. Possible airport pickup, room check-in (non-smoking please!)
  15. Possible driver to and from facility
  16. Collect any remaining riding participant fees
  17. List each lesson session time with the riding participants and their horses' names for Elaine to be able to read during lessons
  18. Make feedback forms for participant follow-up
  19. Introduce Elaine to the group
  20. Encourage everyone to have their horse ready on time
  21. Be available to help with questions during the event
  22. Ask the participants for written feedback before they leave. Encourage students to write articles about their experience
  23. Pay the facility
  24. Pay Elaine
  25. Ask Elaine to e-mail a receipt if you need one
  26. Possible airport drop off
  27. Help students to get articles about your clinic published - especially important if you are planning to have another Centered Riding clinic!
