As
a Level IV Apprentice Centered Riding® Clinician, Elaine is qualified to teach Open
Centered Riding® Clinics. A typical clinic lasts from one to three days and is
often preceded and/or followed by lesson days.
Clinic mornings start with a daily
one hour un-mounted groundwork session before the riding lessons. An open area and seating
will be needed. It would also be handy to have blankets, carpets or pads
available. We will explore the Four Basics of Centered Riding®, human and
equine anatomy and better body use with interactive demonstrations that increase
awareness. We may even partner up during several fun exercises designed to
experience the horse’s point of view.
The
lesson portions are scheduled one hour apart and
typically each lasts 45 minutes with the remaining 15 minutes set aside for sharing and
questions. This also gives time for the next participants to warm up and for the
clinic to stay on schedule. Lessons may be private or group (normally up to
four). The focus is on applying the Centered Riding® Techniques from the
groundwork portion of the clinic to encourage balance and harmony with the
horse. All participants are strongly urged to watch as many lessons as possible.
Seeing other horses and riders will help tie the new information together.

Phil is often able to travel with Elaine to assist during clinics. He
adds an opportunity for one-on-one with participants during a large, fully
booked clinic as he assists during the lessons and mans the side-lines answering
individual questions. Phil will provide this service
for $60 per day when his
transportation, room and board are included with Elaine's. He can also provide
private lessons. Depending
upon the clinic location, Phil can provide a much appreciated complete 800 watt
pro sound system for an
additional $100 per day .
